EuroBench

Motivation

Up to 7 % of the material costs for running a hospital are caused by energy consumption. An optimization can lead to significant saving potentials – without influencing the primary processes “heal and cure”.

With a benchmarking of the energy consumption and corresponding costs, deficiencies can be revealed and influencing factors identified. Subsequently, hospital-specific packages of measures can be defined to reach a best practice. For instance, in a pilot project together with a 500 bed hospital in Germany, a saving potential of 300.000 € annually could be realized.

Ziel

Aim of the project is the development of a European benchmarking database for energy consumption of hospitals, so that the participating hospitals can estimate their saving potentials.
