Analysis of open-data records on the energy consumption of buildings

Brief description

Transparency in the area of energy consumption in public and private buildings is increasing steadily through various initiatives. In Germany, the various transparency / open-data offerings of public administrations partly offer information in different formats. In the USA, some cities and states even require private owners to report and publish energy consumption data to centralized agencies through so-called "building energy disclosure laws".

In this thesis, the largest possible number of such offers shall be researched. Differences in the type and scope of the survey, balancing limits and other specifics are to be documented. All identified sources should - where possible - be summarized by means of an R-script in a dynamic document for automatic data collection, transformation and evaluation. For sources for which an automated query is not possible, the necessary steps to obtain the data must be documented.
