Students understand issues of economic and ecological assessment along the life cycle of buildings and are able to conduct life cycle analyses independently. They are able to interpret the results of life cycle analyses and evaluate system boundaries and calculation parameters in published analyses.
The lectures are held in 3 blocks of 180 minutes each (lecture week 8-10). The topics of the lecture are:
- Economic sustainability assessment with life cycle costing
- Ecological sustainability assessment with life cycle assessment
- Integration of ecological damage into the economic evaluation by means of external cost accounting
